Dav Pierre

Head Coach

I am the boy’s program director at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta and currently the State Chairman for Georgia men’s gymnastics. From being a founding member of GAA’s men’s team to becoming its coach I’ve had the opportunity to have a hand in the history and the evolution of this team. A team that has produced not only champions from the local to the national stage, but also men of great character. As a member of Georgia’s gymnastics community, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to raising the level of gymnastics in our state.

Why Georgia United?
I want to help ensure that there’s a place for the guys that are still hungry to grow and compete in this sport.

Georgia United Gymnasts

Aiden Whitehead, University of Georgia, #11

I am a senior at UGA with plans to graduate in December with a sports media certificate and a bachelor’s in sports management. I am an active judge throughout our region along with coaching full-time. I plan on training floor, rings, vault, and pbars.

Why Georgia United?
Growing up, it was always a goal of mine to compete collegiate gymnastics. With Georgia United forming during my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to help grow the program as much as possible. Being able to attend my dream school while still competing was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!

Nathan Gruwell, Kennesaw State, #66

I am a sophomore at Kennesaw State University studying data science and analytics. I’m going to focus on vault this year while also competing floor, pommel, pbars and highbar. My goal is to compete at a medal level and push myself on skills that I previously thought were unattainable.

Why Georgia United?
I wanted to pursue gymnastics at a level above club gymnastics, and Georgia United helps me facilitate that. Being able to compete with this fantastic team while being able to go to college in state is amazing.

Aaron Weinberg, Kennesaw State, #17

I am a Junior at Kennesaw State University studying Exercise Science with a concentration in pre-medicine. This season I plan to work/compete all 6 events and strive to push myself to a highly competitive level.

Why Georgia United?
I decided to do Georgia United as I felt like I still had more to accomplish. As I started gymnastics later than most, I found exponential growth towards my finals years in the sport, but finished my high school career feeling like I hadn’t reached my peak. Georgia United and GymACT presented me with an opportunity to grow with incredible coaching, and a new, higher level of competition.

Chad Quermann, Kennesaw State, #27

I am a sophomore at KSU studying business management/admin. I plan on competing pommel horse, vault and highbar. I am a two time national qualifier and this is my second year on Georgia United.

Why Georgia United?
I joined GAU because the team environment is unbeatable and the coaches are amazing.

Jeremiah Holmes, Clark Atlanta, #29

My name is Jeremiah Holmes and I was born in Hampton, Virginia, raised in Charleston, South Carolina. I have been a competitive gymnast for 14 years and attend the Illustrious Clark Atlanta University majoring in criminal justice with a minor in psychology.

Why Georgia United?
I developed a love for gymnastics at a young age and over the years I knew that it was something that I wanted to continue to be a part of after high school. Georgia United and the GymACT program both allow me to continue in my passion as a competitive gymnast. After speaking with head coach Nikita Zhukov and watching Georgia United compete at nationals, I could tell how determined and focused the team was, and I’m glad to be a part of this team.

Ethan Emry, Kennesaw State, #52

Hey I’m Ethan. I’m a freshman at KSU. I’ve been doing gymnastics since I was 2 years old, and have competed for 10 years. My goal with Georgia united is to help grow the sport of gymnastics so other boys can experience the sport and fall in love with it like I did.

Why Georgia United?
I chose the Georgia United team because it’s a great group of guys. Everyone motivates everyone and wants to see each other get better.

Cooper Wood, Gadsden State, #25

I am a freshman attending Gadsden State. I plan on training floor, rings, and vault!
